Somehow I always seem to lose
It’s more take than give with you
Lost and found, words go round
Standin’ up and backin’ down
That’s all we do
You don’t have to ask me to stay
Cause I ain’t walkin’
I Just don’t feel like lovin’ you
Today
Doesn’t matter what you do
Or say
I’m gonna Give my heart a break
I know just what it’s gonna take
I just don’t feel like lovin’ you today
Eh eh eh eh ehhhhhh
You know what I need to do
Call someone that isn’t you
Getting high, drinkin wine
Hangin’ out and wasting time
With a girlfriend or two
Baby there’s still love left to make
I’ll be back
I Just don’t feel like lovin’ you
Today
Doesn’t matter what you do
Or say
I’m gonna Give my heart a break
I know just what it’s gonna take
I just don’t feel like lovin’ you today
Eh eh eh eh ehhhhhh
Baby we’ve been here before
You know I’ll be back for more
I Just don’t feel like lovin’ you
Today
Doesn’t matter what you do
Or say
I’m gonna Give my heart a break
I know just what it’s gonna take
I just don’t feel like lovin’ you today
Eh eh eh eh ehhhhhh
I just don’t feel like lovin’ you todaya
Eh eh eh eh ehhhhhh
I just don’t feel like lovin’ you today

I hear that Oceanside is brilliant, this time of year
Said, maybe you and I should go there, we could disappear
We had so many plans
But you crushed them in your hands
A real man would have broke the news himself
They tell me you’re somewhere in California
Watching all the pretty girls go by
How dare you be somewhere in California
Could you not have found a better place to waste your time…
Cause California was mine
Said I’d never make it to the coast
So far that’s true
I think the thing that bothers me the most
Is you think it belongs to you
You went along with every word I said
Messin’ with my heart and head
You stole my dreams and kept them all for yourself
They tell me you’re somewhere in California
Watching all the pretty girls go by
How dare you be somewhere in California
Could you not have found a better place to waste your time…
Cause California was mine
Oh it’s time to take back, what’s mine
What’s mine
They tell me you’re somewhere in California
Watching all the pretty girls go by
How dare you be somewhere in California
Could you not have found a better place to waste your time…
Cause California was mine
California was mine
I hear that Oceanside is brilliant…
This time of year

Put You Out

Ashes fall on my, kitchen floor
I just don’t care anymore
Blowin' smoke I’ll take, one last drag
Then crush this thing out nice and slow
I’m gonna put you out
I’m gonna put you out
I’m gonna put you out…. Like a cigarette
You taste like lies, and you smell like her
You know she’ll never love you like I could
Don’t come back
Mmm don’t call
These ashes are the last thing you’ll see fall
I’m gonna put you out
I’m gonna put you out
I’m gonna put you out… Like a cigarette
You’re so mean don’t think I need your nicotine…
Kind of love
Ooh oooh ooooh
I’m gonna put you out
I’m gonna put you out
I’m gonna put you out
I’m gonna put you out
I’m gonna put you out
I’m gonna put you out… Like a cigarette

Red Flags Green

You said you’d pay me back when your cheque came in I’d get the cash you’ve owed me since our first date when your AMEX got declined
you told me right from the start that you would not compromise your art by working for the man in some lowly 9-5
For years I cleaned the house paid all the bills and walked the dog, instead of seein your true colours all along..
I was Painting those red flags green
lookin’ back now it’s hard to believe
That I was Paintin’ those red flags green
If I do say so myself it was
The best paint job I’d ever seen…
painting those red flags green
So many times, so many ways, you turned me into a damn cliché, that girl who would believe you when you said “she’s just a friend”
You could roll in 2 days late, hungover, lipstick on your face. Between the flowers and the sweet-talk it was easy to pretend. (raise voice and sing into chorus)
I was Painting those red flags green
lookin’ back now it’s hard to believe
That I was Paintin’ those red flags green
And no matter how fast you waved em’ I still drove like steve macqueen…
Oh I was painting those red flags green
Now it’s all so black and white
Oh I finally see the light
I was Painting those red flags green
lookin’ back now it’s hard to believe
That I was Paintin’ those red flags green
If I do say so myself it was
The best paint job I’d ever seen…
painting those red flags green
Oooooh, my daddy never liked you anyway…
Oooooooooh, shoulda listened to my mama when she told me you were bad news

Some days we turn diamonds into coal
We come in hot and angry hurling words over our shoulders
All our grace is gone but there's still hope
Even when the overwhelm - the undertow -
Just don’t wanna let us go
baby you and I
we know the truth
It’s not about the words that leave
the safety of our lips,
That can sting and burn and hurt way worse
Than all the stones and sticks
It’s the knowing you’re not going -
even when our times get hard,
It’s what happens in the space between
The hurtin' and the heart
We walk away but never out the door
The promises we made that day are only getting stronger
Nobody wins when we start keeping score
Even/Just when I think I’ve crossed a line
Forgiveness gets there just in time
Well we both know
How much there is to lose
It’s not about the words that leave
the safety of our lips,
That can sting and burn and hurt way worse
Than all the stones and sticks
It’s the knowing you’re not going -
even when our times get hard,
It’s what happens in the space between
The hurtin' and the heart
Some nights we lose some sleep
Sometimes it gets the best of me
Some how we get what we need
It’s not about the words that leave
the safety of our lips,
That can sting and burn and hurt way worse
Than all the stones and sticks
It’s the knowing you’re not going -
even when our times get hard,
It’s what happens in the space between
The hurtin' and the heart
The hurtin' and the heart
